Spicer Rudstrom’s Managing Partner, Marc O. Dedman, recently talked with Thomson Reuters about the difference between marketing and business development in the legal profession as part of their Leadership in Action Series. The podcast was released this week.

Since the Great Recession, those in the legal profession have had to become more business-driven, focusing on marketing and business (or client) development tactics in order to remain competitive in the marketplace. Within the industry, though, confusion often arises between the two practices, and in this podcast, Marc explores the differences by looking at how the practice of law is experiencing remarkable changes in today’s marketplace.

Marc is a business and insurance attorney whose practice is concentrated in professional negligence, insurance coverage and bad faith, the medical spa industry, and business and commercial representation. His clients include both American and international companies. He is also the firm’s chair of the Professional Negligence and Business and Corporate Law practices.
