Spicer Rudstrom Nashville attorneys Gary M. Kellar and Lance W. Thompson conducted oral arguments in a Tennessee Supreme Court case heard by Volunteer Girls State delegates at Lipscomb University this week. The civil lawsuit, Ms. Bowen, et al. v. William E. Arnold, Jr., is being defended by the firm and was part of the SCALES Program for the students.
Supreme Court Advancing Legal Education for Students is a Tennessee Supreme Court initiative designed to educate youth about the judicial branch of the government. Every year, participants are able to witness oral arguments from two cases and then participate in a question-and-answer session with both plaintiff and defense attorneys.
Gary is a trial lawyer and adviser to Spicer Rudstrom’s insurance clients. His practice is concentrated primarily in insurance defense and trucking/transportation litigation. He holds a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of Tennessee College of Law.
Lance is an associate with Spicer Rudstrom. He is the lead attorney for research and writing, including dispositive motions and pretrial motions with an emphasis on appellate briefs for all of the firm’s attorneys. He works with American and international companies, providing them with in-depth analysis of often very convoluted issues arising under Tennessee law and surrounding jurisdictions.
