Litigation involving the stage collapse at a Sugarland concert nearly five years ago that killed five, injured more than 40 and resulted in major property losses at the Indiana State Fair in August 2011 has successfully concluded. Two attorneys in Spicer Rudstrom’s Nashville office, Brent S. Usery and Marc O. Dedman, represented the prevailing insurance carrier, the defendant, in the coverage dispute. The litigation is filed in the U.S. District Court of Middle Tennessee (docket: 3:12-cv-00851) and involves, among other disputes, complicated insurance coverage, contract and choice of law issues. Spicer Rudstrom successfully obtained summary judgment in favor of its client. The court’s decision will not be appealed by the opposing insurance carrier.
