Spicer Rudstrom’s Christopher M. Myatt and Marc O. Dedman traveled to Cheshire, Conn. this week to visit with HAI Group and to give an update on tender demands and medical lien obligations. The course was designed specifically for insurance claims personnel/adjusters who work on or assist with claims which may resulting litigation, or have the potential to result in litigation, as well as adjusters and claims personnel who investigate those claims and who handle the claims after litigation is initiated.

Specific topics in the presentation included tender demands generally, mechanism by which tender demand was made as impacting obligations of the insurer, defenses to tender demands, potential exposures to be considered, statutory liens under state and federal law, workers’ compensation liens and contractual liens, as well as ethical considerations.

The course was approved for continuing education credits by the Connecticut Insurance Department and the Oklahoma Department of Insurance.
