Knoxville attorney J. Steven Collins is slated as a presenter at an employment law seminar, scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2017. “Advanced Employment Law: Working Through Common Problems” is an advanced level seminar aimed at providing attorneys, in-house counsel, human resource (HR) managers, directors, controllers and executives with clear legal guidance on avoiding lawsuits, complying with HR laws and handling volatile situations. The seminar will cover topics like the Affordable Care Act, deciphering FMLA, ADA and workers’ compensation issues, creating Fair Labor Standards Act strategies that work and balancing employee rights vs. an employer’s right to know, among others.
Steve will specifically address “Reducing the Potential for Discrimination and Harassment Liability” and “Responding to EEOC and State Agency Charges.” He joins Terri L. Bernal from The Chartwell Law Offices and Melissa Carrasco from Egerton McAfee Armistead & Davis, P.C. as presenters.
This workshop is presented by National Business Institute and offers up to six hours of continuing education credit.
