Courtney (CJ) Statham is an associate attorney working at the firm’s Chattanooga office. CJ started working with Spicer Rudstrom immediately after graduating law school and has focused her practice areas to wills and probate, insurance defense litigation, appellate practice, premises liability, and products liability. CJ’s personable skills make it easy for her to communicate with her clients and serve as an efficient intermediary between her clients and the legal system.
CJ graduated Cum Laude from Lee University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and a minor in English. Although she originally aspired to work in the medical field, CJ discovered her passion for law and justice during her senior year. It was also during her time at Lee that she decided to relocate to Tennessee once she completed her education.
Born and raised in Georgia, CJ returned to the Peach State to attend Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law. During her time there, CJ participated in Moot Court. She competed in the Charleston Moot Court Competition in her second year of law school and served as Moot Court Chair and coach for the Charleston team during her last year. In addition to gaining legal experience through her time in Moot Court, CJ interned at Solicitor General offices in Coweta County and Bibb County, Georgia, as well as the Wolford & Robinson firm in Chattanooga.
When CJ is not in the office, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and camping. She also finds time to support local businesses and cheer on the Tennessee Volunteers.
