Ed Reynolds Davies, Jr. has been practicing law in Nashville and throughout Tennessee since 1983. Before entering private practice, Mr. Davies served as a law clerk to the Honorable L. Clure Morton, Chief Judge, United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee from 1982-1983. Since entering private practice, Mr. Davies has concentrated his practice on civil litigation primarily focusing on medical malpractice/healthcare liability cases for physicians, other healthcare providers, and patients. He has also handled and tried numerous cases in other areas including personal injury, wrongful death, civil rights, construction law, product liability, drug and medical device litigation, class actions, and probate and estates.

Mr. Davies was born and raised in Nashville and joined the firm as of counsel in 2019. He has been licensed to practice law in Tennessee since 1982 and he is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Tennessee, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.

He graduated from Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville in 1975, received a B.A. degree from Rhodes College (f/k/a/ Southwestern at Memphis) in 1979, and a J.D. degree from the University of Tennessee in 1982 (with High Honors). He was elected to the Order of the Coif upon graduation from law school.

Mr. Davies served two terms as a hearing panel member for the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Supreme Court of Tennessee from 1993-1999. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, and the Nashville Bar Association, and is a fellow of the American Bar Endowment.

Since 2001, Mr. Davies has maintained a 5.0/5.0 AV pre-eminent peer-reviewed rating from Martindale.com which is the highest rating available from that service. He has also been elected to the Mid-South Super Lawyers each year since 2015.

Mr. Davies is also a musician and enjoys playing banjo in one band and upright and electric bass in two other bands. He also enjoys hiking, bicycling, skiing, and photography.
