Darrick O’Dell is a seasoned, AV-rated litigation attorney. He has practiced for over 15 years and has extensive jury trial and courtroom experience. He represents insurance companies and their insureds, as well as self-insured companies, in serious litigation involving premises liability, retail and hospitality defense, construction damage, insurance coverage, employment practices liability, and other complex litigation including sexual assault and wrongful death claims.

Darrick began his practice in California in 2005, then returned to Nashville in 2008. He is admitted to practice in all state and appellate courts in Tennessee, plus the United States District Court for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Tennessee. He became a member of Spicer Rudstrom, PLLC in 2014.

With a background in employment and general liability litigation, Darrick has the insight to provide practical and informed legal services to small and mid-sized businesses. As such, he offers services as an outside general counsel, handling functions such as contract drafting and negotiation, legal direction concerning employment practices, and general management of nationwide litigation for businesses in Middle Tennessee.

He was born and lived in the Pacific Northwest before moving to Nashville in 1993. He is a graduate of The University of Tennessee and the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.

Darrick lives in Nashville with his wife and two daughters. Skiing in the Colorado Rockies and the Sierra Nevada mountains of Northern California is one of his favorite pastimes. He also enjoys golfing and spending time boating with his family on Old Hickory and Percy Priest Lake.
